What is the Civil Service Program?Much of Astoria's development projects and day-to-day governance is managed by a Ministry, each managed by a Minister. Any Citizen of Astoria can volunteer to join any Ministry through our Civil Service Program. It's the ideal starting point for new citizens who want to make a valuable contribution to our region and reach the highest positions in our executive, such as Minister or even Prime Minister.What ministries are there and which one(s) should I join?There are currently four ministries: Recruitment, Foreign Affairs, Culture and Home Affairs. Each ministry offers its own challenges and job opportunities! Ministry of RecruitmentIf you have a strong desire to contribute to the expansion, influence and power of our region by recruiting new members, then this ministry is for you! As a recruiter, your main task will be to reach as many nations as possible through recruitment telegrams.
You'll also have the opportunity to serve on our Welcome Team, where you can help to warmly welcome new members to our region and provide helpful answers to their questions. Your role on the Welcome Team will play an important part in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for newcomers.Ministry of CultureThis is the place to be if you want to help organise and run games, activities, film screenings, online gaming sessions, awards ceremonies, seminars and various other events.
In the Ministry of Culture, you can use your planning skills, expertise and innovative ideas to ensure successful and engaging events for all.Ministry of the InteriorThis ministry covers a wide range of jobs. As a member of the ministry, you'll actively engage with the community by pointing them to various opportunities within the game and the region. You'll also keep the community informed of government events and news, and ensure that the government is up to date with trends and requests from the game community.
You have the opportunity to become a writer and create informative publications or newsletters to keep our residents and other regions informed about what is happening in Astoria.
Another important task of the ministry is what is known as internal recruitment. This involves reaching out to inactive members of the region and inviting them to join the Forum, become a citizen, join the World Assembly or endorse the Delegate.
If you're passionate about writing, have excellent communication skills and enjoy interacting with others, the Ministry of Interior is for you!Ministry of Foreign AffairsIf you're very interested in foreign affairs (FA), then this ministry is an ideal opportunity for you! As a member of the ministry, you can act as a diplomat and advise on foreign affairs.
Once we start building more embassies, you can also become an ambassador and represent our region. Your job will be to report regularly on the activities in your assigned regions.
